Did you see the Merrythought factory feature on ITV’s Made in Britain?

Viewers of the show were taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of the factory, seeing some of the key stages in the making of a classic Merrythought teddy bear.

From cutting the fabrics to sewing the noses on to stuffing the arms and legs, the programme showcased the traditional skills our talented team use to hand make and bring to life our world-famous products - while ensuring each one is unique.

Our fourth-generation managing director Sarah Holmes, great-granddaughter of founder Gordon Holmes, commented how much she and all the Merrythought staff enjoyed the day.

“It was an honour to welcome the Made in Britain team to the factory and show them the unique way in which we bring our wonderful teddy bears to life. Our episode featured other British manufacturers including Pyser Optics Compasses, Droyt Soap, and Scotch & Co Scotch Eggs. It was lovely to see the detail and skill behind their products too.”
