My bear is 24. He recently lost his growl, but his fur is in good condition and he's looking good! I've also got a Merrythought Highland Cow.
I have just ordered this Teddy for our new Great Grandson. Both our daughters had Merrythought Teddies in the 1950's - then our three grandsons each had one when they were born. Our grandsons are now married and we have 4 great grandchildren - No4 was born yesterday. I put new ribbons on each Teddy I get their date of birth and Christian names embroidered on them. I hope they will all treasure their Merrythought Teddy Bears.
I was given one of these bears as a baby, and still have it now 31 years later. He's been very well loved, and is missing some fur and his growl and has been restuffed several times, but no less handsome for all that. A timeless classic.
I'm expecting a baby in June 2012, and will be buying the same for my little one!
Have had a bear like this for about 24 yrs and it is still as good as new! He still growls despite all the years of playing with him. These products are fantastic. Real classics.

my mum bought me this bear when i was born 25 years ago, although its lost its ribbon and doesnt growl anymore 'Ted' is still very much loved and sits on my pillow.
i am expecting my first child and have puchased one for the baby, i am sure the baby will enjoy their bear as much as i have done! a true classic.
In 1977 my parents bought me a London Gold bear. My first toy, I loved and cherished this bear. He no longer joins me on adventures like he used too. None-the-less he sits beside the bed. He's lost his ribbon, his hair is a little thinner, but he is still more or less the same shape. Not bad for over 33 years! My wife and I are expecting our first child in June. I've come to the site to see if I can buy them a Merry Thought bear. I guess that's what you call brand loyalty.
